Baker Farm

Baker Farm and Winery at Buffalo Creek is located in Fallston, NC. The vineyard is planted in the fertile soil of the rolling hills in Cleveland County. It takes its name from Buffalo Creek, which slowly winds through the property, and from the Baker family name that represents 5 generations and over 175 years of family ownership of this beautiful farmland. Over the years Baker Farm has been a general store, a whisky producer, a dairy farm, and now a winery.

The first grapes were planted in 2003 after the proprietors, Ann Baker Edwards and Charles Edwards, were inspired by a trip to the vineyards of Napa and Sonoma counties while visiting their daughter in Northern California. Through determination and hard work, they turned this inspiration into a reality.

Estate Grown grape varietals include: red muscadine, chambourcin, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot, scuppernong, traminette, chardonnay, chardonel, and riesling.

In 2024 the Baker Farm tradition continued. Elizabeth (Edwards) and Morgan Darden returned to North Carolina after 25 years of working in the wine, hospitality, and property industries in California. They are committed to building upon the Baker Farm experience and sharing with you the goodness that flows from the grape.

Baker Farm and Winery is a beautiful setting for wine tastings, picnics, special occasions, and outdoor events. The grounds include our famous red barn, a historic homestead, a fully restored mule barn, and the original milk house which now supports the winemaking operations and wine-tasting facility.

We invite you to spend an afternoon with your family and friends sampling our unique wines and enjoying a relaxing experience our vineyard offers.
